She gained a Diploma
in Sculpture from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in 1978 and
a Diploma in Sculpture from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts
Decoratifs in 1982 both in Paris.
From 1982 until 1984 she worked as an assistant in the Rennee Bossaert’s
art studio in the Sculpture section of the aforementioned school. Irene
lived in Paris
studying and working there for eleven years as a member of the Art Chamber.
Since 1976 she has taken part in many group exhibitions in Greece and
abroad. Since 1980, Irene has collaborated with numerous galleries and she
has had twenty-three individual art exhibitions in several places like: Athens, Thessalonica, Monemvasia, Myconos, Heidelberg, Nicosia, London,Paris and Brussels. In 1982 she
participated in the ΧΙΙeme Biennale de Paris and in the 1er
Salon de la Sculpture Contemporaine, Croissy-sur-Seine in France.
Irene Gonou's art works can be found in Museums in Greece and
abroad,and also in a variety of private art collections.
